    Wolves 0-0 Newcastle

Matt Ritchie seems to be the only Newcastle player who appeals for a penalty after falling to the turf following a collision with Jonny.

The replay shows Ritchie seemed to run into Jonny.

Ritchie is shown a yellow card for protesting a little too much.

    Another chance…

Mike Barrett:Roy Keane had the best Premier League manager beard ever, mainly because he could completely grow it overnight!

Jay Barnes:Not a manager but Joe Ledley is Nuno’s only competitor in this arena.

Tony:If I was Rafael Benitez, I would have shaved my beard off this evening. Not in the same league as Nuno.

    Wolves 0-0 Newcastle

Czech keeper Martin Dubravka makes another decent stop as he dives down quick-smart to get to Jonny’s drive from outside the area.

    Wolves 0-0 Newcastle

Salomon Rondon is allowed a free header.

Isaac Hayden delivers from the right and finds the head of the Venezuelan from 12 yards out but he steers a tame header into the gloves of Rui Patricio.

Now a chance at the other end….

  5. Post update

    Wolves 0-0 Newcastle

It is quite surprising that Newcastle have held out for this long.

The thing is Wolves have only forced one save from Martin Dubravka.

    Six to go until HT.

Callum B:Hard to dislike Wolves as a neutral. Consistent quality attacking football and a very charismatic manager.

Raul Jimenez cuts in from the left and finally forces a save from Martin Dubravka, who dives low to his left to stop the shot from creeping in.

    Wolves 0-0 Newcastle

Once again Magpies skipper Jamaal Lascelles gives the ball away with a telegraphed pass.

Wolves break and Raul Jimenez tries to get an angled shot away but it’s blocked for a corner.

Then Fabian Schar heads over from the delivery with Willy Boly set to burst the net.

    Another corner!

  9. Post update

    Wolves 0-0 Newcastle

Well, Fabian Schar did score twice against Cardiff.

The Swiss defender surges forward and tries his luck from 20 yards but both his luck and accuracy had gone AWOL.

    Wolves 0-0 Newcastle

Wolves striker Raul Jimenez almost swerves the tackle of Florian Lejeune in the area but the Frenchman gets a toe-in in time.

That all came about after Newcastle lost the ball in midfield once again having been on the attack at the other end.

Sooner or later, Benitez’s side will get punished for one of these errors, or they’ll score against the run of play 🙂

    Wolves 0-0 Newcastle

Diogo Jota is just as impressive as Raul Jimenez – the forward gallops down the left and then delivers a cross which arrives on a different landing strip to the one Matt Doherty had his feet on.

This is a great to watch if you’re a Wolves fan.

  16. Great chance!

    Wolves 0-0 Newcastle

Raul Jimenez this time does get a shot away, from Matt Doherty’s delivery from the right, but his first-time effort sails over the bar.

    Wolves now have a corner…

    Wolves 0-0 Newcastle

Referee Graham Scott!!! That looked a nailed pen!

But let’s have a look at the replay, Christian Atsu actually makes a superb tackle to poke the ball away from Raul Jimenez.

    What a call by Scotty!

Jamaal Lascelles looks to find DeAndre Yedlin with a raked long ball forward but arguably the fastest player on the pitch is caught offside.

    Wolves 0-0 Newcastle

Another defensive error from Newcastle as Florian Lejeune gives the ball away for less than a penny.

Raul Jimenez breaks forward towards goal, weaving one way then the other, but Jamaal Lascelles reads his weaving well and pokes the ball away from his possession.

Ref Graham Scott has a word with Isaac Hayden after his studs meet Joao Moutinho’s foot.

Wolves fail to do much with the resulting free-kick though.
