ACTING CJN, TANKO IBRAHIM MOHAMMED: IT IS MORE HONORABLE TO RESIGN

The Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Justice Tanko Ibrahim Mohammed is not qualified to occupy that position in all ramification. He is neither qualified to function as a Magistrate, Judge, Justice of the Supreme Court let alone the exalted position of Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria (CJN). It a very big shame, slight and indictment to the Nigeria Judiciary and the nation at large. The clear evidences to these attestations include:
1. The Acting CJN did not attend Law School;
2. He studied Sharia Law.

With reference to the above points, it would not be out of place to ask what the Rt. Hon. Justice Tanko Ibrahim Mohammed knows about international and constitutional law. A statement of fact remains that once a lawyer fails to attend Law School, such cannot be called to bar neither can he practice the profession.

The Supreme court of Nigeria has promised to give a ruling for the constitutional interpretation of the removal of the suspended CJN, Rt. Hon. Justice Walter Onoghen Nkanu by President Mohammadu Buhari but the delay is sickening especially since the constitution is straight forward with clear interpretations. President Buhari is totally wrong for suspending the substantive CJN in that manner.

Well meaning Nigerians are calling upon the National Judicial Council (NJC) to insist on asking the Acting CJN to resign with immediate effect on the grounds of non- qualification which is non-negotiable. There are more qualified judges in Nigeria who could be appointed to that exalted position of CJN, judges who read Law and attended Law school and not exalt a man who merely has Sharia Law as his pride.

President Muhammadu Buhari, as a matter of fact should resign with immediate effect for openly and abysmally violating the Nigerian constitution and stealing the people's mandate at the polls. The time to act right is now!
