Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN: A wake up call to its fading responsibility
It is about time the Christian Association of Nigerian, CAN, woke up to her responsibility of speaking for Christians in Nigeria. The association was credibly established to be an Umbrella body uniting all Christians to give them a cohesive voice, give fair and unbiased opinion on issues, speak the truth in admonition, condemn evil in the society and most importantly, protect the fate and rights of the entire Christendom. However, it is rather disgusting and disheartening to know, that the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN have derailed from their aims and objective owing to greed, carnality, immorality and evil interests bedeviling the Association.
In the face of adversity, persecution, anguish, hunger, and unabated killings. They have been uncharacteristically mute with no end in sight, what actions have they taken to condemn the barbaric killings and massacre of Christians in Southern Kaduna?. With the incessant attacks on Christians, what steps have been taken to solicit for help to bring this to a halt? Also, what measure did they take when Governor of Kaduna, El-rufai enacted laws that are not favourable to the Christians. Have they been blindfolded too or what are they waiting for to stop the mess in the country?. Too many questions yet no answers.
If it were to be castigating their members or head of churches, they will rise to their feet but they can't unite themselves to help issues pertaining to the Christians in the country.
The grave silence from CAN leaves many disgruntled, hopeless and in despair of what their fates hold and hence should be looked into as a matter of urgency.
