CONSISTENT BIAS AGAINST ISRAEL BY THE UNITED NATIONS

The recent publication by United Nations blacklisting companies with ties to Israeli settlements in Jewish areas of East Jerusalem, the West Bank and the Golan Height is another vindictive and cruel display by the world body on Israel. Series of resolutions by the United Nations have persistently been against Israel.
History has it that over 850,000 Jews were compulsorily forced out of Iraq, Iran, Egypt, Morocco and many other countries during the 20th century after terrible persecutions and stringent violence. Most of these refugees fled to Israel in 1948 during the establishment of the State. The continuous efforts of Israel asking the United Nations to recognize these thousands of refugees have been persistently rejected, worst still is the the cruel silence of the international community in the event of discussions of refugees of the conflicts because it doesn't fall into the favour of the Palestinians. What a biased organisation!
Since the creation of United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in 2006, it has passed more resolutions condemning Israel than on the rest of the world combined. It was as a result of these constant terrible resolutions against Israel that 9th Emergency Session of the General Assembly was convened at the request of the Security Council in which United States blocked series of efforts to adopt sanctions against Israel. In 2018, the U.N General Assembly passed 21 resolutions condemning Israel and six for some other nations. The only democratic nation in the middle east (Israel) was condemned seven times more than the brutal North Korean dictatorship. It is worthy of note to highlight some of these terrible resolutions:
1. Failure to condemn Hamas (U.S-designated terrorist group) for repeatedly firing rockets into Israel.
2. Resolution equating Zionism – the belief in Jewish self determination with racism.
3. Creation of United Nations Relief and Works Agency ( UNRWA) exclusively for Palestinians while all other refugees in other parts of the world fall under the jurisdiction of U.N High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). What a bias!
4. U.N turned à blind eye to Hezbollah (Iranian-backed Lebanese-based terror group) caught on digging attack tunnels into Israel.
In a drive to foster peace in the middle east, President Trump on January 28 2020 unveiled his Middle East Peace Plan outlining both economic and political portions (Peace to Prosperity) for both Israel and Palestines. It is quite unfortunate that the Palestinian leadership and Arab League totally rejected the plan because of their hatred for Israel.
In the interest of lasting peace in the Middle East, It is high time United Nations to put an end to her consistent bias over the nation of Israel.
