Coronation Street’s Tim Metcalfe takes drastic action next week as he kidnaps his own mum Elaine Jones in a bid to stop her from marrying serial killer Stephen Reid.

His besotted mother (Played by Paul Wilcox) has been on cloud nine ever since dodgy businessman Stephen (Todd Boyce) inadvertedly proposed to her last month while high on LSD. 

And in upcoming scenes, cabbie Tim (Joe Duttine) will be left horrified when he learns of Elaine and Stephen’s plans to tie the knot in Las Vegas. 

After locking horns with her son, Elaine agrees to head off to Vegas that very afternoon to marry her love Stephen.

Sally (Sally Dynevor) is shocked to learn of the upcoming nuptials and soon notifisd her horrified husband who puts his crazy plan of of action into notion.

Shock: Sally (Sally Dynevor) is shocked to learn of the upcoming nuptials and soon notifisd her horrified husband who puts his crazy plan of of action into notion

Tim makes peace with Elaine and Stephen and makes out that he accepts their marriage plans, even offering to drive them to the airport.

He lures his mother into his cab and suddenly drives off, leaving Stephen on the doorstep and his own wife Sally stunned.

Sally and Stephen can only watch on in disbelief as Tim speeds away with his mother held hostage on his car.

But will he be able to put a stop to the wedding? 

Meanwhile, a kidnapped bride isn’t the only trouble Stephen faces next week as he receives a terrifying threat after killing his rival Rufus.

In upcoming scenes, the businessman is on cloud nine after drowning Rufus and splashing out on a car, but he’s stopped when he receives a strange note.

This week sees Rufus’ body discovered in a swimming pool with talk on the Street abuzz about how he met his maker.

Will Stephen discover who knows about his killer secret?

In the upcoming episodes, Stephen is proudly showing off his new car while bragging about the success of his business ventures.

While showing Owen and Angelique samples of their first order with Michael and Sarah, Stephen opens a hand delivered letter.

He is shocked to find a single line reading “I know what you did to Rufus”.

Over at the Rovers he struggles to get into a celebratory mood with the others as they drink to the second order. 

As he heads back to the factory he is approached by the two lads he tried to buy LSD off who reveal that they sent the letter… and they want £10,000 or they’ll go to the police. 

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
