INJUSTICE AGAINST FREEDOM OF SPEECH

There is an international law of #Freedom of Expression and Association. Freedom of expression is recognized as a human right under article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) and recognized in international human rights law in the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR).

Article 19 of the UDHR states that "everyone shall have the right to hold opinions without interference" and "everyone shall have the right to freedom of expression; this right shall include freedom to seek, receive and impart information and ideas of all kinds, regardless of frontiers, either orally, in writing or in print, in the form of art, or through any other media of his choice."

This law is enjoyed and exercised by the #Arabic world as they freely give their expressions about their faith and beliefs; even if their expression is offensive to other faiths, they don't mind and nothing is done to them.

It is surprising and disheartening, however, that when some devout Christians make some free expressions about their faith, punitive measures are taken against them out of animosity. #Religious intolerance exhibited on Christians all over the world is highly demanding against #Christian faithful.

Just recently, #Israel #Folau, a professional #Rugby player in Australia, made an expression via Instagram, and referenced the Holy Christian Book, Bible, saying that "Hell awaits idolaters adulterers, gays, drunks, etc."

What atrocity has he committed by sharing a Biblical Teaching?

Subsequently, the management of Rugby #Australia subjected him to a dispassionate and prejudiced panel of interrogation, where it was concluded that "his expression" was beyond the rules of his engagement. On Tuesday, 7th May 2019, a few days ago he was sacked and dropped by his sponsor Asics, solely on the reasons for exercising his freedom of expression right.

We purely condemn #Asics for this wickedness.

We strongly stand with Israel Folau in this fight, while praying for a better sponsor to sign him.

Religious intolerance and bigotry will keep dividing the human race if the International organizations, United Nations continue to fail to stand against those who amplify such demeaning wicked acts.
