LEADERSHIP ABSENCE IN NIGERIA PRESIDENCY, THE ROOT OF THE NATION'S CRISIS.
Leadership is referred to as "the action of leading a group of people or an organization; it is the state or position of being a leader". Synonymous with leadership is guidance, direction, authority, control, management, superintendence, supervision, organization, government, initiative, influence etc.
The United Nations Population Division (2019 Database) placed Nigeria 7th most population Nation in the world with population of almost 201 million people. The United States Energy Information Administration Database 2019 has Nigeria as 13th world largest producer of crude oil with oil production of about 2million barrels per day.
#Nigeria is endowed with unimaginable human and natural resources sufficient enough to cater for her citizens but the evident lack of leadership in the presidency has not only set the nation as the poverty capital nation of the world overtaking India but has unemployment rate at all time high. Series of events bedeviling the nation has conspicuously indicated that absence of leadership, political and economic direction is the bedrock of Nigeria crisis.
It is worthy of note that while many nations of the world including African nations are advancing in modern technology, digitalizing their economy and infrastructural development and investing heavily in human capital development, Nigeria is still wallowing in cattle colony, establishment of #RUGA settlement for Fulani herdsmen (4th deadliest world terrorist organization), quite unfortunate.
Recently, the sling-4 aircraft built by #South #Africa teens made historic flight to Namibia while Nigeria's President #Muhammadu #Buhari is engaged with investing tax payers N3.2billion naira in Niger state on establishment of RUGA settlement for Fulani herdsmen on 45,000 hectares of land after proposing establishing of AM radio station for the same Fulani herdsmen. What a nation! It is time to call a spade a spade.
In the area of unemployment, the record is at all time high of 23.1% while underdevelopment is at 16.6% according to National Bureau of Statistics, NBS. The Minister of Labour Chris #Ngige affirmed that the unemployment rate in Nigeria is alarming and estimated to hit 33.5% in 2020 yet there's no visible, clear cut policy direction from the president to tame this ugly situation. Nigeria's economy is nose diving in various sectors. The Nigerian Bottling Company Plc (Coca cola products) recently shut down most of their plants in Northern Nigeria leading to loss of many jobs.
Also, coalition of Northern groups threatened citizens of Nigeria by issuing a 30-day ultimatum to the President and Southern/Middle Belt Governors to accept RUGA settlement for #Fulani herdsmen or face the consequences, yet there was no single response from the President. Nigerians are being murdered in cold blood in many States of the Federation on daily basis with no single arrest let alone prosecuting the perpetrators of these heinous crimes.
The Nigerian president General Muhammadu Buhari is hereby called upon to RESIGN immediately as he has consistently displayed lack of leadership and political will to steer the affairs of the nation on the path of success. He has absolutely lost touch with 21st century economic policies required to drive the nation to greatness. It is time Nigerians rise up against this administration as most members of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC have gone mute in the face of atrocities in Nigeria without telling the president the truth.
Yes, it is time for Nigerians!
