LOPSIDED INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY (UN) DEFENCE OF ISLAM: A COMPULSORY CALL TO STRICK A BALANCE
Injustice, bias and partiality are the key causes and promoters of intimidation, perpetration of inhumane acts and terrorism with impunity in the globe today. Therefore, for peace and respect for human life and rights to thrive, people in positions of authority charged with the mandate of maintaining peace and order should not be found with such attributes that promote conflict and terrorism.

However, its of no consolation that world leaders especially United Nations (UN), have chosen to default in their mandate as the hope of the helpless and voiceless by being glaringly partial in their judgements and actions through dispensing their duties when some set of people are affected while they keep mute and appear unaware when the others are.
Since the assumption of office by President Muhammadu Buhari in Nigeria in 2015, there has been records of killings of Christians in Kaduna, Benue, Plateau, etc. However, #UN is yet to react to this act of wickedness. One must have thought that UN has become non-functional or better still, deserted Africa. Surprisingly, the massacre of over 130 Fulani people in Mali recently suddenly stirred up the UN prompting its leadership to issue order to the Government of Mali for the immediate investigation into the matter.

One would ask, why the sudden stir to action? Is it that the killings going on in Nigeria has not got to a threshold that will instigate UN intervention or that UN has deliberately decided to look the other way owing to the fact that the crimes are not perpetuated on their sacred cows? Or maybe it aligns with the plans of the Arab dominated UN to take over the globe. This was also the case with the shooting in New Zealand which set the whole world agog.
We are not and will never support or justify the killings going on no matter who is affected because no one has the right to take a life. However, what is good for the goose is also good for the gander. If UN should intervene in issues affecting the Fulanis in Mali, they should do same for Christians in Nigeria being killed by the same Fulanis lest it will be seen as partial and bias. Hence, UN is called upon to intervene in the incessant killing of Christians going on in Nigeria by charging or mandating President Buhari to put a stop to the killings, just like they did for the Fulanis in Mali and Muslims in New Zealand.
