#Nigerians be wise. Before the 1979 Nigerian presidential elections, the Rt. Hon. Chief Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, the Owelle of Onitsha faced the press on the National Television network. It was a pleasure listening to him. Not only that he had a good command of English language, he answered questions in a way that showed that he was abreast of the challenges Nigeria was facing. In fact many people, even in opposition parties were convinced that Dr. Azikiwe was competent to handle the affairs of Nigeria. All that happened is now history, but the lessons are eternal.
One wonder why a leader or presidential aspirant, who is aware that he is not competent, can not honorably withdraw from the presidential race. Reference to President Muhammadu Buhari
interview #TheCandidate few days ago. The high level of ignorance exhibited in respect of challenges facing Nigeria and the way forward, is disturbing. Professor Yemi Osinbajo , the Vice President, interjected several times to save the situation. It is a pity that a cattle rearer that does not understand governance and the way forward is trying to perpetuate himself in office. Still wondering why the ruling party, APC can not present a qualified, competent and credible presidential candidate in the interest of the future of Nigeria?
This is a food for thought.
