No government functions effectively by monopoly, hence, the concept of public-private partnership. It is expected that individuals who are interested in giving back to the society or those who are already impacting should be encouraged by the government. Unfortunately, in this part of the world, condemnation, discouragement and accusations become the portion of such individuals most times.
A typical example can be seen in #Imo State. A lover of Education and philanthropist extraordinaire, His Grace, The Most Rev. Prof. Daddy Hezekiah (MFR), Founder and Leader of Living Christ Mission Inc., took his time to support the Education System in #Nigeria by establishing a great citadel of learning, Hezekiah University, Umudi , Nkwerre, Imo State , the first private university in Imo State, but it seems the government of Imo State lead by Owelle Rochas Okorocha is sad about this wonderful development.
Although research has shown that #Hezekiah University pays the lowest fees amongst all private universities across the Federation yet the school assures students of quality education and good morals. Obviously, the establishment of this institution would help reduce the alarming number of Nigerian Students who stay at home due to frustrations from Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) .
Instead of such special effort to be commended, sadly, there is no form of praise.
The road leading to the school is dilapidated; it seems like the abandonment is on purpose.
The IMO STATE GOVERNMENT should consider doing the right things. Sentiments should never be given opportunity in this case rather prompt response should observed.
