PRESIDENT BUHARI'S CONSTANT VISIT TO THE UK – A TALE OF DEMEANING ALLIANCE'

For the umpteenth time, President Muhammadu Buhari is scheduled to visit the United Kingdom on November 9, 2019 and expected to return on November 17, 2019. This betrays the hypocritical nature of the president who on 30th April 2016 through the honourable minister of health, Prof. Isaac Adewale at the 56th Annual general conference of the Nigerian Medical Association asserted that there will be no funding for medical trips abroad for any government official. In view of this, it is evident that President Buhari is either not a government official or they are playing on the intelligence of well meaning Nigerians.

However, there exists a more pertinent issue on the spotlight, which is the complicity of the UK in the misdemeanours displayed by the president who has been found culpable of not only mismanaging the nation's resources but also his clulessness in abating the wanton killing of Nigerians, grave insecurities, hardship and economic frailties.

Since the inception of this administration, there has been a clamp down on anyone criticizing the absurd policies of the government, media houses are raided to intimidate editors exposing these sad situation all in the name of 'hate speech campaign'. But how would Nigerians in diaspora particularly in the United Kingdom keep mute about the happenings in the country? Multitudinous episodes of felonies have taken place since the present administration took over and yet little or nothing has been done to curb or control these jailbirds who have decided to keep the country in shambles.

It is quite unfortunate and disheartening that various organizations and international communities who ought to speak out in condemnation of these calamitous cum iniquitous policies meted out by these megalomaniacs are happily joyous with the current situation in the country.

If the home based (Nigerians in Nigeria) are quiet due to fear of the unknown, while will the foreign based citizens (Nigerians who plight their trade overseas) be mute considering the fact that their voices can be heard and listened to by the international bodies. Does it mean Nigerians overseas particularly in the United Kingdom cannot pick up placards and protest against the pernicious and pestiferous acts like people did in Chile, Lebanon and Turkey against the government. Even some in Canada did the same.

What are Nigerians in Great Britain doing? What are Christians, Children of God doing in Great Britain? Can't they mount pressure on the government of Great Britain to look into the situation in the country and also refuse President Buhari entry into her country?

On the other hand, It is becoming very obvious that Great Britain are aiding the incompetency of President Muhammadu Buhari by allowing him entry to their country.
Nigerians in Diaspora especially in the UK are therefore urged to lend their numerous voices to this despondent act by the Muhammadu Buhari led administration.
