THE KILLING OF CHRISTIAN CLERICS BY FULANI HERDSMEN, A THREAT TO THE NATION.

The state of the nation is becoming so petrifying, due high level of insecurity of the citizenry. This has led to losses of lives/properties and #kidnapping of important persons. The massive killings and kidnapping became more evident when an #islamization campaign began through a group who disguised themselves as herdsmen emanated. These so-called #herdsmen were armed and they have been massively killing #Christians in many parts of the nation in order to inflict fear, threaten their faith and consequently islamize the nation, as explicitly stated in their broadcast messages. More disheartening is the fact that the President and his cohorts have been playing safe with these perpetrators, hence inreasing tension in the country.
The mayhem has escalated to the extent that notable Christian clerics are being killed almost on daily basis. The President has continued with his cold attitude towards these killings by his kinsmen-the #Fulani, as if it was fowls that were being slaughtered. The worse scenario is that the military seem to be protecting these hoodlums from the revenge of the masses, showing that it is purportedly a planned deal from the Buhari-led government.
On Thursday, 1st August,2019, the Parish Priest at St. James Great parish in Ugbawka was shot dead by suspected Fulani herdsmen along Agbudu road Awgu L.G.A, Enugu. On another occassion, five Pastors from the Pentecostal denomination-RCCG were abducted in the outskirts of Lagos. On April 25, 2018.Two #Catholic priests and seventeen others were killed by herdsmen in St.Ignatus Church Ukpor, Mbalomi parish, Gwer East Local Government Area of Benue State and many more. This is unbearable indeed.
We therefore call on well meaning Nigerians and International Organisations like the United Nations to use their good offices to fight against this genocide induced by these Fulani herdsmen. The Nigerian Government should recall that we are in a democratic nation, there should be freedom of religion as well as freedom of speech. This calls for an urgent action!
